My Tally Health Results
I have made a number of significant changes to my daily life in recent months to support healthier aging, but still, I did not expect that the results would be as dramatic as what Tally Health is telling me!
What I've Done Differently
For one, I've been taking Tally Health's longevity supplement almost daily. (Given my latest TallyAge results, I'm feeling more inclined to take this supplement regularly!)
Secondly, I changed how I eat. I transitioned from mostly eating twice a day—morning and afternoon—to eating only in the morning for a span of about three hours. I also started incorporating less meat into my diet. (These changes were spurred on by David Sinclair's podcasts.) As a bonus, I removed the relatively unhealthy second meal that I was having at work where we don't stop serving customers even when we need to eat our lunch.
Third, I've gotten better about having a consistent circadian cycle and getting more natural light exposure (with much thanks to the Huberman Lab podcast).
Fourth, come April, I noticed I was having peripheral neuropathy on my right foot! Yikes! I figured it should be a lack of vitamin B12 because of less meat in my diet, and I ended up subscribing to AG1 to get my daily B12. Now I'm left with just a bit of lingering numbness on a couple of the toes on my right foot. I've also come to really like starting off my day with drinking AG1! It tastes pretty good and covers a lot of different nutrients that I want on a daily basis. I feel like with AG1, I can be more lax about what I eat for the rest of my day.
Fifth, I've started incorporating a bit more electrolytes, particularly sodium, into my diet. Many people say that they feel mental clarity in a fasted state, but I didn't really get that. I ended with electrolytes being the prime suspect and gradually upped my intake to a point where I feel pretty great even when fasted. I feel much more conscious now of the effects of low or high sodium on my body. I've also started ending my day with a magnesium glycinate supplement, which makes me wake up earlier, but with my body feeling well-rested. I think the magnesium glycinate makes me align more to my chronotype, i.e., I might have usually been waking up at 6am, but I am now more inclined to naturally wake up at 5am because of the supplement. (As a result, I try to get to bed earlier to aim for 8 hours of sleep.)
Lastly, over the past few months, there were three instances where I fasted for a day or two.
Hmm... now that I have it all listed out, it does seem to be a lot that I've changed. It might just make sense that my latest TallyAge results are actually accurate.
Other Thoughts
It's been said that the propensity for neuroplasticity in humans starts tapering off at about age 25. I wonder if I have the benefit of youth in regards to neuroplasticity because my biological age is below 25? That'd be awesome if true!
Also, my skin does seem to look noticably better than how it was at the beginning of the year! Except on my hands! Haven't found a cure for eczema yet!
Anyway, I look forward to what the future holds!
